Leathergoods And Footwear Manufacturers & Exporters Association of Bangladesh (LFMEAB) signed an Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Footwear Design & Development Institute (FDDI) on 18th March, 2024 at FDDI, Noida Campus. It aims to provide support in developing capacities and competencies for delivering training and other relevant services to Bangladesh’s leather products and footwear sector. The agreement was signed by Major Md. Rafiqul Islam (Retd.), Secretary General of LFMEAB, and Col. Pankaj Kumar Sinha, Managing Director of FDDI. Ms. Sharif Nawrin Akter from LFMEAB and Mr. Sunil Kumar, Executive Director –FDDI Kolkata campus, and other dignitaries from FDDI were present on this occasion.
Under the agreement, advanced level design making training on footwear manufacturing will be conducted for selected professionals in FDDI, Kolkata campus with facilitation from the Leather Sector Business Promotion Council (LSBPC) of Ministry of Commerce. The training is expected to provide training for institutional capacity building, technology transfer, and innovation to improve the efficiency and competitiveness of Bangladesh’s leather footwear and product sector.
