The recent flash floods in Bangladesh have devastated communities across 11 districts, affecting 18 million people, with more than 1.2 million families trapped as flash floods submerge vast areas of the country’s east and southeast. Flooding in August has inflicted Tk 33.46 billion worth of damage on agriculture across 23 districts in eastern Bangladesh. To stand by the flood-affected people, The Leathergoods And Footwear Manufacturers & Exporters Association of Bangladesh (LFMEAB) has contributed Tk30 lakh to the Chief Adviser’s Relief and Welfare Fund. In addition to the funds, the LFMEAB secretariat donated a day’s wages.
