Leathergoods & Footwear Manufacturers & Exporters Association of Bangladesh (LFMEAB) under the EU Inspired initiatives signed Memorandum of Understanding & Cooperative Agreement with the Eastern Bank Limited on 26th October, 2015 at the EBL head office Jiban Bima Bhaban, 10, Dilkusha C/A. Under this MoU, LFMEAB & EBL are envisioned to ensure concessional green credit package to the eligible LFMEABS SME members across the country.
Mr. Md. Saiful Islam, President of LFMEAB and Mr. Khurshed Alam, Head of SME Banking signed the MoU on behalf of their organizations respectively. Hassan O. Rashid, Deputy Managing Director and Mr. Ali Sabet, Team Leader of Bangladesh INSPIRED, Ms Kazi Roushan Ara, Executive Director, LFMEAB were present there. With the MOU singing, new and more comprehensive collaborations are expected between LFMEAB and EBL. The EBL has agreed in exclusion of any obligations to provide preferential treatment to the LFMEAB members for processing the loans. As part of green finance initiatives, LFMEAB will work with EBL to facilitate its members to further expand their exports by furthering formal access to finance and continuous improvement of compliance issues.
