According to the press release, Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed is expected to inaugurate the event, which is a concurrent show of Bangladesh Leatherfootwear & Leathergoods International Sourcing Show (BLLISS)-2018.
With an aim to bring global technology to the doorsteps of the local industry and catalyze its growth and modernization, the sixth edition of Leathertech Bangladesh – 2018 is set to begin in Dhaka from November 22.
ASK Trade and Exhibitions Pvt Ltd is the organizer of the trade fair, which will be held at the International Convention City, Bashundara (ICCB), said a press release.
Moreover, the second edition of “Bangladesh Leather Footwear and Leather Goods International Sourcing Show – 2018” will be organized by Leather goods and Footwear Manufacturers and Exporters Association of Bangladesh (LFMEAB), at the same venue.
Organizers made the announcement at a press conference at a hotel in Dhaka.
Speaking at the conference, Director of ASK Trade and Exhibitions Nanda Gopal K said: “Our trade show addresses the technology, machinery, and finished leather sourcing needs for expansion and modernization of the industry. Forthcoming editions of the fair will showcase latest innovations, and provide multiple supplier options compared to earlier editions.”
According to the press release, Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed is expected to inaugurate the event.
Over 300 exhibitors from nearly 20 countries including India, China, and Pakistan will be participating in the event.
Apart from the main event, there will be a “Buyer-Seller Meet” to help exhibitors interact with the sourcing team from factories on November 22 and 23.
A seminar on “Future of footwear design and development, production control and costs” will be held on November 24.
Among others, Md Saiful Islam, president of LFMEAB, Kazi Rawshan Ara, executive director of the same organization, and Tipu Sultan Bhuiyan, and managing director of ASK Trade and Exhibitions, were also present at the press conference.
LFMEAB will participate as lead support for the event, while Centre of Excellence for Leather Skills Bangladesh Limited will take part as the strategic partner. Leathertech Bangladesh 2018 is also supported by Bangladesh Tanners Association (BTA), Bangladesh Finished Leather, Leather goods and Footwear Exporters Association, Bangladesh Paduka Prostutkarak Samity, and Leather Engineers and Technologists Society.
