Leathergoods And Footwear Manufacturers & Exporters Association of Bangladesh (LFMEAB) signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH in Dhaka on 7th June 2023 in a signing ceremony at LFMEAB conference room.
It aims to attain digital transformation of all LFMEAB services for improved governance in the leather products, footwear, and synthetic industry in relation to a social standard. Digitalization of services includes regular service automation, online registration for the membership and renewal, development of a digital workers’ database for the member factories, digitalization of a local supply chain map, and Digitalization of HR management and administration of LFMEAB. Mr. Syed Nasim Manzur, President of LFMEAB and Mr. Werner Lange, Coordinator-Textile Cluster from GIZ, Bangladesh among other dignitaries were present at the signing ceremony.
This initiative is expected to boost productivity and efficiency as a business model and facilitate access to existing social services.
