The Leathergoods and Footwear Manufacturers & Exporters Association of Bangladesh (LFMEAB) and VisionSpring Bangladesh have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to implement the Clear Vision Workplace (CVW) Program across LFMEAB member factories. The MoU was signed by Mr. Ibnul Wara, Director of LFMEAB, and Ms. Misha Mahjabeen, Country Director of VisionSpring Bangladesh.
The CVW Program will provide structured vision screening, corrective eyeglasses, counseling, and eye-care awareness initiatives to workers in LFMEAB member factories. By improving access to clear vision, the program aims to support:
- Higher productivity and efficiency in daily tasks
- Improved product quality through sharper visual accuracy
- Better workplace safety by reducing avoidable errors and strain
- Stronger worker well-being through preventive eye-care practice
Mr. Ibnul Wara, Director of LFMEAB, stated:
“This initiative will not only ensure higher productivity of work but also safeguard the overall well-being of our workers. Clear vision is fundamental to both efficiency and safety in the workplace.”
Ms. Misha Mahjabeen, Country Director of VisionSpring Bangladesh, emphasized:
“Counseling is a critical component of eye-care support, yet it is often ignored. We know its importance in helping workers understand and adopt healthier practices, ensuring that the benefits of clear vision are sustained in the long term.”
This collaboration reflects a joint commitment to sustainable workforce development, responsible industry practices, and long-term impact for both workers and enterprises. By integrating eye-care into workplace wellness, LFMEAB and VisionSpring Bangladesh aim to strengthen inclusive and responsible practices in Bangladesh’s export-oriented leather and footwear industry.
