Leathergoods And Footwear Manufacturers & Exporters Association of Bangladesh (LFMEAB) is deeply shocked and grieved at the sad demise of Alhaj Shamsur Rahman, Founder & Chairman of Bay Group and beloved father of Mr. Ziaur Rahman, Vice President of LFMEAB. He passed away on Monday, 13th May 2024 at 9:00 pm local time while undergoing treatment at a hospital in Singapore. (Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un).
Mr. Rahman started his venture with Bay Tanneries Ltd in 1977, and one of the eminent industrialists of the country who significantly contributed to the development of the tannery, leather products, and footwear industry in Bangladesh. He was a philanthropist and social worker. He built numerous institutions including schools, colleges, madrasas, and orphanages.
The entire LFMEAB family expresses its heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family for the irreparable loss. We pray to Allah for eternal peace of his departed soul and pray for all of the members of the family to have the strength to go through this most trying of times.

লেদারগুডস অ্যান্ড ফুটওয়্যার ম্যানুফ্যাকচারার্স অ্যান্ড এক্সপোর্টার্স অ্যাসোসিয়েশন অব বাংলাদেশ (এলএফএমইএবি) এলএফএমইএবি-এর ভাইস প্রেসিডেন্ট জনাব জিয়াউর রহমানের প্রিয় বাবা ও বে গ্রুপের প্রতিষ্ঠাতা ও চেয়ারম্যান আলহাজ্ব শামসুর রহমানের মৃত্যুতে আমরা গভীরভাবে শোকাহত। তিনি সিঙ্গাপুরের একটি হাসপাতালে চিকিৎসাধীন অবস্থায় গত সোমবার, ১৩ মে ২০২৪ স্থানীয় সময় রাত ৯ টায় ইন্তেকাল করেন। (ইন্না লিল্লাহি ওয়া ইন্না ইলাইহি রাজিউন)।
জনাব রহমান ১৯৭৭ সালে বে ট্যানারিজ লিমিটেডের উদ্যোগ শুরু করেন। তিনি দেশের বিশিষ্ট শিল্পপতিদের একজন যিনি ট্যানারি, চামড়াজাত পণ্য এবং পাদুকা শিল্পের ভিত তৈরিতে উল্লেখযোগ্য অবদান রেখেছেন। তিনি ছিলেন একজন দানশীল ও সমাজসেবক। ব্যক্তি জীবনে তিনি স্কুল, কলেজ, মাদরাসা এবং এতিমখানাসহ অসংখ্য প্রতিষ্ঠান গড়েছেন।
আমরা এলএফএমইএবি পরিবারের পক্ষ থেকে মরহুমের বিদেহী আত্মার মাগফিরাত কামনা করছি এবং শোকসন্তপ্ত পরিবারের সদস্যদের প্রতি গভীর সমবেদনা জানাচ্ছি।
